India Women’s cricket team secured a commanding 302-run victory over Ireland Women in the third ODI in Rajkot, completing a 3-0 series clean sweep.
Batting first, centuries from Pratika Rawal and Smriti Mandhana powered India to a record 435/5, their highest-ever total in women’s ODI history. Mandhana’s blistering 135 off just 70 balls set a new record for the fastest ODI century by an Indian woman. Rawal contributed a magnificent 154, while Richa Ghosh added a quickfire half-century. India became only the third team, after New Zealand and Australia, to surpass the 400-run mark in women’s ODIs.
Ireland struggled in response, bowled out for just 131 in 31.4 overs. Sarah Forbes top-scored with 41, while Deepti Sharma’s 3/27 led India’s clinical bowling effort. Tanuja Kanwar and Minnu Mani also chipped in with wickets, ensuring a crushing defeat for the visitors.
Pratika Rawal was named both Player of the Match and Player of the Series for her stellar performances, scoring 310 runs in three matches. Skipper Smriti Mandhana expressed satisfaction with the team's performance, highlighting their batting dominance and bowling strength. Ireland captain Gaby Lewis acknowledged the learning experience for her team, emphasizing their young squad's exposure in Indian conditions.
India now looks ahead to a white-ball series against England starting June 28, while Ireland will focus on preparations for the Women’s ODI World Cup Qualifiers.
