 The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the 15-member Indian squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Under the leadership of captain Rohit Sharma, the team is set to compete in the prestigious tournament, with Shubman Gill serving as vice-captain.

1. Jasprit Bumrah's Return:

The star pacer has returned to the squad after recovering from a back injury. Bumrah’s inclusion will be subject to fitness clearance by the BCCI medical team in early February.



2. Yashasvi Jaiswal's Debut in ODIs:

The young batting sensation, who has impressed in Test and T20 formats, has earned his maiden call-up to the ODI squad.



3. Mohammed Shami's Comeback:

Shami, who has been sidelined due to an ankle injury for the past year, has regained his spot in the team.


Management’s Perspective:

Chief selector Ajit Agarkar emphasized the importance of balancing experience with youth, citing the mix of seasoned players like Virat Kohli and emerging talents like Jaiswal as a formula for success. The team aims to bring the trophy home after a strong showing in recent bilateral series.


India's Campaign Schedule:


India will kick off their Champions Trophy 2025 campaign on February 20 against Bangladesh. The team management is optimistic about this lineup’s ability to secure the title.
